Siffrin's Silver Coin
Description
ACT 1 & 2:
Some change you got from buying a croissant.
ACT 3 & 4:
A nice silver coin that has followed you even through time.
ACT 5:
A coin.
ACT 6:
Your coin. There's only one like it in the Universe.
Usage
The usage text when using the Silver Coin is decided by RNG. The game rolls a number between 1 and 51. "The Incident" triggers at 61 or higher.
Since rolling a 61 naturally is impossible, several factors add to the rolled RNG.
In addition to making the Incident monologue possible to reach, the additions also make the lower RNG options less likely or even impossible to occur.
Of note: additions to the Silver Coin Help only occur the first time each condition is met.
Factors include:
- Showing Loop the coin in ACT 2 & 3: +1 each
- Showing Loop the coin in ACT 4: +5
- Interact with the croissants in the Boulangerie in ACT 3 or 4: +3
- Interact with the croissants in the Boulangerie with Odile during her Friendquest: + 3
- Interact with the croissants in the locked Break Room on Floor 2: +1
- Interact with the open book in the room with the dog on Floor 3: +1
- Read the book on Wish Craft in the Secret Library: +1
- Use the coin in ACT 3: +10 (does not stack with ACT 4 & book bonuses)
- Use the coin in ACT 4: +15 (does not stack with ACT 3 & book bonuses)
- Use the coin after reading the first book on Wish Craft in the locked Storage Room +20 (does not stack with ACT 3 & 4 bonuses)
RNG 1 to 20
(You roll the coin around in your pocket.)
RNG 21 to 40
(You flip the coin in the air a few times.)
Inside the House:
Isabeau (hahaha2) Clap clap clap!
Odile (hm1) You can just actually clap instead of saying "clap clap clap" out loud.
Isabeau (brag1) Never!!!!
RNG 41 to 50
Before getting the Incident:
(You think about the Incident.)
After getting the Incident:
(You think about the stars.)
RNG 51 to 60
(You grip the coin tightly between your fingers.)
ACT 5, after defeating the King but before the finale
(for some reason you think about Loop,)
ACT 6
(That's your coin!)
(It really has followed you through this whole adventure, hasn't it...?)
Without meeting specific requirements
(Somehow, you feel like there was something you could've done with this.)
(You suppose it's too late, now.)
ACT 6, after picking up Loop's Silver Coin
(This is your silver coin.)
(You've had it since before the loops started.)
(. . .)
(You need to look at that other coin.)
Loop's reaction
Showing Loop the Silver Coin by interacting with it close to the Favor Tree.
ACT 2
(You roll the coin around in your pocket.)
Loop (ew1) Oh, THAT thing.
Loop (fake1) Stop keeping that stupid coin! Go buy a snack with it or something, stars.
ACT 3
(You roll the coin around in your pocket.)
Loop (ew1) Are you rolling that coin again?
Loop (fake1) You've kept it this whole time. It's just pathetic, now.
ACT 4
(You roll the coin around in your pocket.)
Loop (happy1) ...
Loop (ew1) Urgh.
Loop (ew1) Do you want to talk about it.
(Why would you?)
(It's just a coin, after all.)
Loop (fake1) Of course it is.
Loop (fake2) There's definitely not a single reason you've kept it this whole time.
Loop (ew1) You haven't even tried to buy anything with it. A snack, a stupid item, ANYTHING.
Loop (angry1) Leave it behind already!!!
(...)
(Why does Loop care, anyway.)
Loop (ew1) ...
Loop (fake1) I don't care. Not in the slightest!
(...)
After the Incident
(You look at the coin.)
Loop (happy1) . . .
Loop (happy1) You can get so fixated sometimes.
Loop (ew1) You don't need to swear off croissants because of what happened. You don't need to keep that coin to remember what happened.
Loop (ew1) You don't need to keep that coin to remember them.
Loop (away1) Those rituals won't accomplish anything.
Siffrin (angry4) (You don't want to hear this right now!) "How could you understand how I feel?!"
Loop (fake1) ...Heh!
Loop (fake2) You're right. I can't understand you.
Loop (fake2) After all, I don't know what it's like to feel your home slip out from under you. To feel cut off from everything.
Loop (fake2) To want to remember it all, no matter what.
Loop (fake2) How could I?
Loop (subdued1) Look at me, stardust. Look at my face.
Loop (serious1) Do you REALLY think I'm supposed to be here?!
Loop (angry1) Do you REALLY think I can't understand what it's like, to not have a home I can go back to?
Loop (ew1) To see reflections of it everywhere I look, but without the connection that comes with it?
Loop (ew1) Do you really think I don't understand wanting to remember everything I've left behind?
Loop (away1) I'm a star, but do you really think it warms me up? That my chest isn't empty, still?
Loop (ew1) And even now, I'm alone, no one can understand what I'm going through, and the only person that could is...
Loop (away1) . . .
Siffrin (angry1) "...Is?"
Loop (away1) . . .
Loop (fake1) Nope, that's it! That's all you get, teehee!
(...)
(You feel like you understand Loop a lot better now.)
The Incident
As stated in the previous section, this monologue occurs when rolling 61 or higher on the RNG when using the Silver Coin.
ACT 1 (not possible to get in-game):
(A few days ago, you all passed through a little town for supplies.)
ACT 2:
(A few days ago, before you started looping, you all passed through a little town for supplies.)
ACt 3 & 4:
(You remember.)
(Before you became stuck in time, you passed through a little town for supplies.)
(Everyone had things to do, but you were so stupidly hungry you could barely think, so you stopped at a boulangerie nearby.)
(The boulanger was an old man, but strong. Looked like he woke up smiling every day. Even then, with the threat of the King looming over everyone.)
(Wordlessly, you pointed at a croissant, showing some coins. Silently, smiling, he got you your pastry, took your money, gave you one silver piece of money back.)
(You both said "thank you" at the same time.)
(And you both froze.)
(Apart from Isa and Mira, who have the same accent, you all have very different ways of speaking the same language. Makes sense, as you all come from different places.)
(Through your travels, you met a lot of people with Mira and Isa's Vaugardian accent, a few with Bonnie's coastal accent, and even fewer with Odile's Ka Buan accent.)
(But your accent stayed unique, foreign.)
(The boulanger's accent was the same as yours.)
(Without breaking eye contact, the old man grabbed your arm. His eyes were stunned. Fearful. Hopeful.)
(And he said: "Young one... Where are you from?")
(And you couldn't answer.)
(There was no way you could answer.)
(How could you answer? Did he know?
Did he remember? Could he answer?. Was he asking you? Taunting you?
Could he remember the lights, still? The shapes they cut in the darkness? Their stories?)
(Did they beat in his chest, still? Were they still warming up his heart? Could he speak them and everything into existence? Could he say it? Let the words out? Did he remember? Did he remember? Did he remember?)
(DID HE REMEMBER?)
(You left the boulangerie running.)
(You could see the night sky, dotted with lights, but your chest was empty.)
(When you ran back, you thought about how you'll always forget about the things you love)
(it's an immutable fact)
(but you don't want to forget about your [allies/family members], ever)
(ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever)
(no matter what, you'd make sure)
(that you would)
(always)
(remember)
(. . .)
(You ate the croissant, when you got back to everyone else.)
(It didn't taste like anything.)
(You think about silver coins.)
(You think about croissants.)
(You think about accents.)
(You think about--
Time skips.
(...But the Universe won't let you.)
(You rub your chest, to bring back some warmth, and think about everyone.)
Loop's Silver Coin
Description
A silver coin you found under the Favor Tree.
Usage
Prior to the Loop battle, away from the Favor Tree:
(...)
(You should look at this near the Favor Tree.)
Using Loop's Silver Coin close to the Favor Tree triggers the Loop fight.
After the Loop battle:
(This is Loop's silver coin.)
(They must've spent a lot of time carrying it around, too.)
(You flip it once, twice, three times.)
(You'll see each other again!)
