Index

Left Bed

(A nice, comfy looking bed.)

ACT 5

(Bed.)

Newspapers

Pointing out the stars on the King's armor is the only way your friends learn about stars; this alters some dialogue in the Observatory, for the Wish Craft book in the Secret Library, or the orrery behind the star-shaped door.

For the rest of Kingquest, see the Kingquest compliation page.

(Some papers.)

(They seem to be various newspaper articles about the King.)

If you're too early (Before you ask the King if he's using Time Craft)

(...You should keep those in mind for later.)

Text ends.

During or after Kingquest

First time

(You never looked at them very closely before, have you?)

(You take a step forward.)

Mirabelle (awawa1) Oh... So many articles about the King!

Odile (dotdotdot2) His conquest was slow enough that the Vaugardian press had time to write about him, I remember that...

Odile (huh1) But there's no one to write them now.

(You all start reading random articles.)

Isabeau (boo1) This article is about his slow march to Dormont's House...

Mirabelle (anxious2) This one is about him probably being from another country than Vaugarde...

First time

Siffrin (surprised1) (Huh?)

Subsequent times

Siffrin (serious1) (...)

"He really isn't Vaugardian, then?"

Mirabelle (anxious1) Oh, apparently not.

Isabeau (wonder2) This article says there's no record of him anywhere... Up until he appeared out of thin air sometime in his adulthood.

Isabeau (angry2) Looks like he lived in the city of Corbeaux for a few years before he became the King...

Bonnie (oh!1) So he was a traveler? Like Frin and Dile?

Odile (urgh1) Please don't compare us to him, thank you.

First time

(That's right... He did talk about "Vaugardians" before.)

(The way he phrased it... It did seem like he thought of Vaugardians as people other than himself.)

(And...  He said he thought of Vaugarde as "welcoming".)

(Always willing to welcome people in, even someone with no name, no home to speak of...)

(. . .)

(You should go and ask the King where he's from, later.)

Isabeau (boo1) ...  Oh.

Isabeau (neutral1) This article is about his fashion sense.

Mirabelle (awawa1) Huh?!?

Odile (awkward1) From what I've heard, he does have a very distinctive hairstyle.

Isabeau (brag1) This article is more about his armor, actually!

Isabeau (neutral1) They even included a sketch, look.

A newspaper article with an image depicting the King.

Mirabelle (anxious1) Hm... Well, it's very...  Shiny?

Odile (awkward1) I suppose.

Isabeau (brag1) Very imposing!

First time

(There's something that caught your attention though...)

Subsequent times

(...)

Siffrin (hide1) (...)

  • "His crown..."

Mirabelle (happy1) That IS a very tall crown!

    Isabeau (fufufu1) Very king-like.

    During this step of Kingquest

    (...)

    (You're missing something.)

Wrong answer! Returns you to pick another question.

  • "His shoulder parts..."

    Odile (hm1) Pauldrons, Siffrin.

Bonnie (and then1) They're so big!!!

Isabeau (hahaha2) The pauldrons are big, and he is also very big... One pauldron might be bigger than all of us combined!

    Bonnie (surprised1) ...

    Bonnie (serious1) Pauldron house...

    Isabeau (fufufu1) Pauldron house...

    Mirabelle (happy1) Pauldron house...

    Odile (sigh1) Stop.

    During this step of Kingquest

    (...)

    (You're missing something.)

Wrong answer! Returns you to pick another question.

  • "The patterns..."

Isabeau (wonder2) The patterns? On his chest and gauntlets, you mean?

Bonnie (lol1) It's just a weird losange. What's so weird about that?

    First time

    Siffrin (serious1)

    Subsequent times

    Siffrin (fake1)

    "Those are stars."

    Bonnie (surprised1) Stars?

    Bonnie (serious1) What's a star?

    Without Isaquest

Odile (dotdotdot2) The dots in the sky, correct?

    (You nod.)

Odile (doubt1) ...  Is that so...?

With Isabeau's friendquest done this loop

Isabeau (brag1) The dots in the sky! Sif and I were looking at them yesterday, remember?

    Bonnie (surprised1) Oh.

Mirabelle (awkward2) This article here does mention his speech mannerisms...

Mirabelle (anxious2) Stars and sky-related things seem to be something he comes back to often.

    Isabeau (wonder2) Stars, huh...?

Mirabelle (anxious1) What could be interesting about them?

    First time

    (Stars.)

(Is there somewhere in the House where you could find out more about them?)

Repeated interaction

(Some papers.)

(They seem to be various newspaper articles about the King.)

ACT 5

(Newspaper articles.)

Desk

(Some notes.)

(The handwriting is so terrible, you can barely read what's on it.)

ACT 5

(Notes.)

Rolled Up Papers (Left)

Fun fact! A comment in these papers' event says that one of these landscapes "is the view from the star room and part of it is all scratched out".

(Some rolled up papers.)

(You unroll one...)

(It's a bunch of sketches of landscapes.)

ACT 5

There're now three baskets of papers that give this text.

(Landscapes.)

(Will you ever get to see anything other than Dormont and this House ever again?)

Closet

For souvenir interaction, see Souvenirs 1.

(A closet haphazardly filled with art notebooks and art supplies.)

First time only

(And... Oh!)

(There's a crumpled pile of hand-drawn cards.)

(Pick one?)

  • Yes[!/.]

(You pick a card at random...)

A card is picked at random based on the current ACT.

  • No[!/.]

    (You leave the pile alone.)

ACT 2

Six of Swords (2 in 7 chance)

(This card has a drawing of a man carrying six swords on a boat.)

(How does the boat not sink???)

(The bottom says "Six of Swords.")

The Star (1 in 7 chance)

(It's a card with a drawing of a star with an upside down face...?)

(Oops, you're holding the card upside down.)

(It's just a normal, not-upside-down star.)

(The bottom, unsurprisingly, says "The Star".)

Ace of Wands (1 in 7 chance)

(This card has a drawing of a hand holding a piece of wood.)

(The bottom says "Ace of Wands".)

Eight of Pentacles (3 in 7 chance)

(This card has a drawing of someone making some plates.)

(They seem happy to be working.)

(The bottom says "Eight of Pentacles".)

ACT 3

Two of Swords (2 in 7 chance)

(The card has a drawing of a pair of scissors.)

(The bottom says "Two of Swords".)

Six of Pentacles (1 in 7 chance)

(It's a card with a drawing of someone walking on the sky and offering flowers to sky people.)

(...It's upside down.)

(The man is touching the ground, and giving flowers to normal people.)

(The bottom says "Six of Pentacles".)

The Hermit (1 in 7 chance)

(The card has a drawing of a hooded person in a cave.)

(They look sad and alone.)

(The bottom says "The Hermit".)

Five of Wands (3 in 7 chance)

(The card has a drawing of five women fighting with spears.)

(Why are they fighting?)

(The bottom says "Five of Wands".)

ACT 4

Eight of Swords (2 in 7 chance)

(The card has a drawing of a trapped, blindfolded man.)

(He's surrounded by swords.)

(Why is he alone?)

(The bottom says "Eight of Swords".)

Ten of Swords (1 in 7 chance)

(You pick the card upside down. You can tell from the design on the back.)

(You turn it around and look at the design.)

(It's a dead person.)

(Dozens of swords stabbed them in the back.)

(You can't see their face.)

(The bottom says "Ten of Swords.")

Five of Pentacles (1 in 7 chance)

(The card has a drawing of someone surrounded by empty glasses.)

(They probably don't have any friends.)

(The bottom says "Five of Pentacles".)

The Hanged Man (3 in 7 chance)

(The card has a drawing of someone hanging upside down.)

(They look like they're about to die, but they're smiling.)

(The bottom says "The Hanged Man".)

(You got the DRAWN CARD!)

(You put the card in your pocket along with your Souvenirs.)

ACT 5

This card is always The Fool.

(...)

(You pick up a card at random.)

(Got the Drawn Card.)

Repeated interaction

(A closet haphazardly filled with art notebooks and art supplies.)

ACT 5

(Closet.)

Paintings

(Some tiny paintings.)

(They must've been crafted to move, but they've been frozen in time...)

ACT 5

(Tiny paintings.)

(You keep going.)

Dresser

(A dresser with art books on top of it.)

(You open the drawer...)

(You found the BROKEN EGG KEY!)

(The keychain dangling from it is shaped like an egg broken in half...)

(You put the Key in your Pocket.)

First time

(You now know where the Broken Egg Key is located.)

(...Sounds like keys will be in your future, huh.)

(You should probably try to remember their location, just in case...)

(You got a MEMORY OF KEYS!)

(You will always remember this.)

[When equipped, Memory of Keys helps you remember where keys are.]

[When looking at a locked door, you'll get a sense of where its key is. If you've already found the key in a previous loop, you'll get directions as to where to go.]

[Pretty useful if you're the forgetting type, huh?]

Odile (dotdotdot2) In someone's drawer? What a weird place for a key...

Bonnie (lmao1) Definitely not a very king-like place, huh!!! That's pretty stupid of him!!!

Isabeau (wonder2) I'm not sure... Hiding keys in places like drawers isn't very King-like, yeah, but it means they're harder to find since it's not a very expected place...

Isabeau (hahaha2) But thankfully we have our good ol' Sif to help us find them!

Mirabelle (excited1) Thank you, Siffrin! Good job, Siffrin!

Odile (isthatso1) Yaay, good jooooob.

(She claps sarcastically, which makes everyone join her enthusiastically.)

Before dying to the King for the first time

(You take a bow.)

After

(But you know that the King didn't...)

(...)

(Everyone is clapping, so you take a bow.)

Repeated interaction

(There's nothing more to be found.)

ACT 5

(You open the drawer.)

(Got the Broken Egg Key.)

Repeated interaction is generic.

Rolled Up Papers (Right)

(Some rolled up papers.)

(You unroll one...)

ACT 2 & 3

(Oh my!)

(The paper is filled with sketches of naked people doing fun things.)

ACT 2

(You look at them curiously.)

ACT 3

(You're kind of grossed out by them.)

ACT 4

(You don't want to look at them.)

Mirabelle (awawa1) Oh, oh my!!!

Isabeau (neutral1) Huh, neat.

Bonnie (stop!2) Show me, I can't see what it is!

Mirabelle (uwah!1) Oh no, no, no!!!

(Mirabelle hurriedly covers Bonnie's eyes and makes them take two steps back.)

Bonnie (stop!1) But I wanna see!!!!

Mirabelle (awawa1) No no no no no, it's not allowed!!! You're not allowed!!!

Odile (isthatso1) Yeah, it's not for little ones, Boniface.

Isabeau (brag1) Yep, can't let you do that, Bonbon!

Bonnie (sulk1) Weh.

Bonnie (hmf1) . . .

(Bonnie is looking straight at you.)

Bonnie (serious1) Frin.  Can I look?

ACT 2

Siffrin (joke1) (Well.)

ACT 3

Siffrin (lol1) (Hehehe...)

ACT 4

Siffrin (fake1) (...)

"Nah, definitely not."

Bonnie (surprised1) Oh...

Bonnie (oh!1) Oh! So it's REALLY not allowed!

Odile (hm1) Why did it take Siffrin saying it for you to realize...

Bonnie (lol1) Frin lets me do things when you guys say no sometimes.

Bonnie (sulk5) But if even Frin says it's not allowed... Then it must be something really not allowed.

Bonnie (happy2) So I won't look!

Isabeau (hahaaa1) Well, good?

Mirabelle (angy1) SIFFRIN!!!!

Mirabelle (fight1) What the CRAB did you let Bonnie do when we said no!!!

ACT 2

(Wuh oh.)

ACT 3 & 4

(Ah, well.)

Bonnie (oh!1) He let me drink some vodka once!

Isabeau (huhwah1) HUH?!?

Odile (uwah!1) WHAT?!?

Mirabelle (fight1) SIFFRIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time

(WUH OH!!!)

ACT 2

(You make sure to look like you're about to flee.)

ACT 3

(You smile sheepishly.)

ACT 4

(You smile and wait.)

Bonnie (sulk1) I don't really get why Odile likes it though.

Bonnie (serious1) It tasted just like boring water.

Isabeau (hahaaa1) ...

Odile (hm1) ...

Mirabelle (awkward1) . . . . . .

Isabeau (boo1) Sorry. That sounds like an amazing practical joke to play on a kid, actually.

ACT 2

(It was!)

ACT 3

(You think it was funny, yeah.)

ACT 4

(...)

(You don't remember it happening anymore.)

Repeated interaction

(Some rolled up papers.)

(The paper is filled with sketches of naked people doing fun things.)

ACT 5

(Gross drawings.)

Right Bed

(A bed.)

First time; before getting the Pillow Hat

(The bed itself doesn't seem very comfy, but that pillow...)

Isabeau (oh1) Why does that pillow look so comfy...

Odile (awkward1) It has a strange shape, though, doesn't it?

Bonnie (sulk5) That's...

Bonnie (no!2) Wait, that's not a pillow! THAT'S A HAT!!! JUST LIKE MINE!!!

Odile (hm1) What.

(You got the PILLOW HAT!)

(You give the Pillow Hat to Bonnie to equip later.)

Subsequent times; if you already have the Pillow Hat

Isabeau (oh1) Why does that pillow look so--

The world skips.

Isabeau (wonder2) So... Not... Here?

Mirabelle (anxious1) Some people like to sleep with no pillows, or so I've heard...

The text for refinding equipment then plays.

Repeated interaction; identical in ACT 5

(A bed.)

ACT 5

(You look at the pillow.)

The world skips.

Rolled Up Papers (Bottom)

These papers are only here in ACT 5.

(Drawings of you.)

(Your face is just dark, dark, dark.)
